The Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) offers domestic and international travel grants for its Annual Meeting, held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 25–27 July 2027.
Both tracks share one deadline. The 2027 page does not yet post eligibility or the application form; the rules below are from the 2026 and 2025 calls.
Benefits & funding
- A contribution toward housing and transportation for attending the meeting.
- The award size depends on how many applications arrive; in 2025 the international grant was expected to cover less than half of travel costs (2025 page).
Eligibility
- In 2026: graduate students or early career professionals who were AAEA members by the deadline (2026 page).
- Working in agricultural or applied economics.
- Without enough institutional funding for the trip.
- With a paper, poster or session accepted for that year’s meeting.
- International track (2025): applicants living outside the United States and Canada.
- No nationality bar is stated.
Application process
- 1Get a nomination from your department head, division head or supervisor certifying financial need; self-employed or not-yet-employed applicants may use a colleague’s or mentor’s letter instead.
- 2Each employing institution has at most two applications considered.
- 3Submit the online form by 21 May 2027 (2027 form not yet posted).
