The Department of Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University runs this 15-day summer school for university students studying engineering, data science, management or related fields. Its curriculum combines industrial engineering, data analytics, intelligent manufacturing, supply-chain management and engineering management with laboratory and practical sessions.
The 2026 cycle ran in Beijing from 5 to 19 July. Classroom work was paired with industrial and cultural visits intended to show how Chinese logistics, manufacturing and digital transformation operate in practice.
Benefits & funding
- The 2026 fee was USD 1,000 per student and covered tuition, on-campus housing and accident insurance during the summer school.
- The fee did not cover international travel, passport and visa costs, meals or other personal expenses.
- Scholarships were available, but the official notice did not publish their value; decisions considered academic achievement, research interests, relevant experience and performance during the summer school.
Eligibility
- Applicants had to be non-Chinese citizens enrolled in undergraduate or master’s study in engineering, data science, management or a related field.
- The program published no age, gender, residency or work-experience requirement.
- Non-native English speakers and students at institutions where English is not the teaching language had to provide TOEFL 85, IELTS 6.5, or at least grade A in Cambridge English FCE.
