The Young Leaders Summer Academy is organised by ICI, GIGA, and Helmut Schmidt University. The 2026 edition brought future decision-makers from the Middle East and Europe to Hamburg to examine links between climate change and security.

Participants from varied disciplines and practical backgrounds developed strategic foresight, scenario-building, and strategy skills while exchanging perspectives with international experts. The academy is intended to strengthen interdisciplinary networks supporting cooperation and peace in the Middle East.
