The Woolf Institute Cambridge Scholarship supports prospective full-time postgraduate students at the University of Cambridge. Cambridge Trust administers the award with Woolf Institute involvement, and it is tenable at any Cambridge College.
Eligible routes are the MPhil in Middle Eastern Studies: Muslim-Jewish Relations and PhD courses in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences relevant to multidisciplinary study of relations among Jews, Christians and Muslims. The 2026/27 cycle is closed; the Woolf Institute and Cambridge Trust coordinated candidates in March and April 2026, and the awards period ended in July.
Benefits & funding

- Support lasts for the selected course length. For PhD recipients, up to six additional months of maintenance for an optional writing-up period may be available on application, but it is not automatic.

- Master’s route: the MPhil in Middle Eastern Studies: Muslim-Jewish Relations.
- PhD route: a course in Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences with research relevant to the Woolf Institute’s multidisciplinary study of relations among Jews, Christians and Muslims.
- Selection is based on academic merit and financial need.
- No nationality, residency, gender, age or work-experience restriction is stated; the award covers both Home and International fee categories.
- Cambridge Trust generally funds applicants starting a new supported degree, not students already part-way through a Cambridge course. It normally does not fund a degree at the same or a lower level than one already held, except a department-required second MPhil before PhD study.

- 5Potential candidates are reviewed jointly by the Woolf Institute and Cambridge Trust; successful candidates are then invited to interview.
