The Winter Japan Culture Camp 2026 is a six-day cultural immersion program run by AYFN Academy for international youth. Over 6 days and 5 nights, participants travel through Osaka, Kyoto and Nara to experience Japanese traditions, heritage sites and everyday life, with English as the working language so no Japanese is required. AYFN has run its Japan Culture Camps since 2015; the program is offered on two tracks — a competitive partial scholarship and a self-funded place — and includes a pre-departure online Japanese class.

Benefits & funding

  • Scholarship track (competitive, selection required): full program-fee waiver, valued from USD 950, plus flight support in two tiers:
  • Gold: flight expense support up to USD 750
  • Silver: flight expense support up to USD 250
  • 6 days / 5 nights accommodation (double or triple shared room)
  • All meals, scheduled cultural activities, sightseeing and heritage walking tours
  • Local transportation and in-country coordination
  • Pre-departure online Japanese language class; e-certificate of participation
  • Not covered: visa fees, additional airfare, travel insurance and personal expenses
  • Self-funded track (no selection, limited slots): program fee from USD 950 plus a USD 35 registration fee
