The Wharton Fellowship Program is merit-based tuition support awarded by the Wharton School to students admitted to its MBA program. Fellowship consideration is built into the MBA admissions review, so there is no separate fellowship application.
Selection considers personal qualities and background, academic achievement, professional development, leadership, and community involvement. Recipients complete the Wharton MBA in Philadelphia, and a typical award runs across the program’s two academic years.
Benefits & funding
- A typical fellowship lasts two years and is divided equally across four fall and spring semesters.
- The award is applied to tuition and mandatory fees; Wharton does not publish one standard award amount on the current fellowship page.
- Outside awards or company sponsorships may reduce the fellowship when combined funding exceeds tuition and mandatory fees.
- Dual- and joint-degree awards are prorated for semesters enrolled at Wharton, and second-year renewal requires good academic standing.
Eligibility
- All students admitted to the Wharton MBA are automatically considered; no separate fellowship application is accepted.
- MBA applicants must have completed an accredited undergraduate program or its international equivalent and submit a GMAT or GRE result.
- Wharton states no minimum or maximum work-experience requirement and publishes no nationality, residency, age, or gender restriction for fellowship consideration.
- An English-language test is required when the applicant did not earn a degree at an institution where English was the language of instruction.
