The Wexner Field Fellowship develops established professionals working in North American Jewish communal organizations. The Wexner Foundation is accepting applications for Class 11, while Sulam will operate the fellowship from January 1, 2027.
Fellows join a 15-person cohort for six in-person institutes, individual coaching, Jewish learning and remote peer consultation over three years. The curriculum covers adaptive leadership, communication, difficult conversations and negotiation.
Benefits & funding
- The Wexner Foundation covers all expenses for participation in two in-person institutes per year, totaling about eight travel days and six business days annually.
- Fellows receive one-to-one professional coaching and work with a Jewish educator in each of the three years.
- The 2026 official handbook lists USD 3,750 in Jewish education funds and up to USD 5,000 in reimbursable professional-development funds per funding year; applicants should confirm Class 11 amounts during the transition to Sulam.
- Fellows join a network of more than 3,000 professional and volunteer leaders in North America and Israel.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be based in the United States, Canada or Mexico and employed full-time by one nonprofit Jewish communal organization that is a 501(c)(3) or registered charity.
- They must have at least five years of full-time work experience and at least one year with their current organization by April 1, 2027.
- They must have been born from April 2, 1976 through April 1, 1990, making them 37–50 on April 1, 2027.
- They must be a citizen of the United States, Canada or Mexico, or hold documentation allowing them to work in the country where they are based.
- Applicants may not apply to the Field Fellowship in consecutive years unless this is their final eligible year, and may not apply to the Wexner Davidson Fellowship in the same calendar year.
- Written support from the current organization’s Executive Director and Board President is required; fellows must remain in eligible full-time communal employment for the three fellowship years and three further years.
- No degree, nationality beyond the citizenship-or-work-authorization route, or gender requirement is stated.
