The Westlake University School of Engineering runs this English-taught summer school at its Yungu Campus in Hangzhou. The 2025 edition, jointly organized with the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, focused on electronic and information engineering for second- and third-year undergraduates worldwide.
Participants studied topics spanning optoelectronics, communications, intelligent manufacturing, and systems through intensive courses and small-group faculty discussions. The program also included laboratory and research-commercialization visits, cultural activities, and access to the WISE 2025 engineering symposium.
Benefits & funding
- The program charged no tuition and provided on-campus accommodation without charge.
- Each participant received a RMB 300 meal allowance for the week.
- Students from overseas universities could receive up to RMB 5,000 toward travel to Hangzhou; students from domestic universities could have a second-class high-speed rail ticket reimbursed.
- Local transportation, personal expenses, and applicable visa fees were not covered.

- Applicants had to be second- or third-year undergraduates as of the Fall 2025 semester in electronic and information engineering or a related field.
