Western Balkans Fund runs WBF Move Grants to finance short-term, in-person mobility that builds cooperation among the six Western Balkans contracting parties. Applicants propose an individual cultural, educational, scientific, or sustainable-development activity with a host institution in another contracting party.
Activities normally take place in the Western Balkans; an activity outside the region may be eligible in an exceptional, justified case when it promotes the region internationally. The seventh call’s implementation window is December 2026 through April 2027.
Benefits & funding
- Applicants may request €500–€3,000, covering up to 100% of eligible costs.
- Eligible costs include economical transport, travel or medical insurance, visa fees, registration fees, accommodation, daily allowances, visibility, and disability-related support.
- Accommodation is capped at €65 per night in the Western Balkans and €80 per night outside the region; the daily allowance is €40 per activity or travel day.
- WBF pays 70% after the grant contract is signed and up to 30% after approving the final supporting documents.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be at least 18 on 5 October 2026 and both citizens and residents of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, or Serbia.
- Only individual applicants qualify; each must be an established professional, employed or affiliated with a public or non-public legal organization, or enrolled as a student at the deadline.
- Applicants must have no criminal record and must be able to apply, communicate with WBF, and report in English.
- The mobility must involve a host institution and normally connect the applicant’s contracting party with another one; an official invitation, registration, or acceptance document is required.
- An applicant may submit only one proposal and may not hold another active WBF Move Grant.
