The UQ International Excellence Scholarship supports high-achieving international students commencing eligible coursework at the University of Queensland in 2027. It covers undergraduate and postgraduate coursework across all study areas, subject to the excluded-program list in the terms.
Recipients study full-time at UQ in Australia. The scholarship is awarded competitively among eligible offer holders in each commencement semester.
Benefits & funding
- A 25% reduction in tuition fees for every semester of the enrolled coursework program.
- The reduction continues for the program duration while the recipient remains eligible, enrolled full-time and making satisfactory academic progress.
- The scholarship does not include a living allowance, travel funding or other personal-cost support.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be an international student, defined by UQ as someone who is not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident.
- The applicant must apply for an eligible full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program commencing in 2027 and satisfy all conditions of the program offer.
- The applicant must meet the program entry rank and English-language requirements and achieve a score that is competitive within the relevant offer-holder pool.
- The applicant must not hold another UQ scholarship, tuition-fee reduction or rebate, except the UQ English Language Scholarship.
- The applicant must not hold a full scholarship or sponsorship from another organisation; partial external support may be considered at UQ’s discretion.
- Programs excluded by the 2027 terms are not eligible.

Application process

- 2Apply for admission through the route required for that program and applicant category, completing the form and submitting the required academic, identity and English-language documents.
- 3Satisfy every condition of the UQ program offer; there is no separate scholarship application because eligible offer holders are assessed automatically.
- 4If selected, accept the program offer, meet the scholarship acceptance deadline stated by UQ and pay the tuition deposit so the award can be confirmed.
