Official Page

The University of Hafr Al Batin (UHB) is a Saudi state university in Hafr Al-Batin, with branch university colleges in Khafji and Nairyah. It admits non-Saudi students on scholarship through the two routes the Ministry of Education sets for public universities.

The external route is for applicants who live outside the kingdom. On the Ministry’s Study in Saudi platform, UHB lists three bachelor’s tracks for them, all for men: the Engineering Track taught in English, and the general tracks of the College of Business Administration and the College of Arts, taught in Arabic.

The internal route is for non-Saudis already living in the kingdom on a valid residency. It reaches further into the catalogue, with diplomas, bachelor’s programs at the branch colleges and master’s degrees. The platform labels every UHB scholarship place, internal or external, as a partial scholarship.

Benefits & funding

  • A study place at a state university, classed on the Study in Saudi platform as a partial scholarship.
  • External students: the ticket for the first journey is refunded, up to what peers from the same country receive.
  • External students: an allowance worth two months on arrival, and a return ticket home at the end of each academic year.
  • External students: an allowance worth three months on graduation.
  • External students: a one-off award of SAR 1,000 in each academic year for strong academic results.
  • External students: university housing with academic, social and cultural support, health care throughout the studies, and subsidised meals.
  • The university handles the visa and residency paperwork for external students.
  • UHB publishes no benefit list for resident students; the Ministry defines a partial scholarship as a place with some of the benefits above, such as housing.
  • No monthly allowance figure is published.

Eligibility

  • Non-Saudi nationals of any country; Saudi students enter through regular admission.
  • Bachelor’s routes, external and internal: aged 17 to 25, with a secondary-school certificate or its equivalent.

  • Master’s degrees (internal route): non-Saudi applicants must hold an official graduate scholarship, and the Ministry caps the age for master’s scholarships at 30.
  • No applicant may already hold a scholarship from another Saudi university, or have been academically dismissed from one.
  • Scholarship students must meet the same admission requirements as Saudi applicants.
