The University of Alberta offers this renewable entrance scholarship to students from an Aga Khan Academy operating under the AKA agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. Applicants must be on a Canadian study permit and entering the first year of an undergraduate degree at the university.
Selection considers IB Diploma academic standing, demonstrated financial need and leadership. Recipients cannot hold another University of Alberta entrance award or scholarship.
Benefits & funding
- The scholarship covers the total cost of tuition and non-instructional fees for four years, plus up to CAD 28,000 per year for living expenses.
- Funding may continue in the second, third and fourth years.
- Each renewal requires a minimum 3.0 GPA across at least 24 credits completed during the most recent September-to-April period.
