Trusted CI runs this annual fellowship to build foundational cybersecurity knowledge among members of the scientific community. Fellows act as cybersecurity liaisons, sharing practices and challenges between their professional communities and Trusted CI.
The 2026 call addressed professionals and postdoctoral researchers in science and engineering who reside in the United States. The hybrid program combines virtual training with participation in the NSF Cybersecurity Summit in Irvine, California.

Eligibility
- Applicants must reside in the United States throughout the program.
- The 2026 call was for professionals and postdoctoral researchers seeking practical cybersecurity skills for science and engineering.
- Previous Fellows are not eligible; unsuccessful applicants from earlier cycles may reapply.
- Fellows must participate in weekly sessions, complete a community-service activity, and attend the 2026 NSF Cybersecurity Summit.
- Three or more absences may result in loss of travel-funding eligibility for the 2027 summit.
