The Niblack Nursing Scholarship

Benefits & funding

• The scholarship covers tuition, room and board, and mandatory fees for four years.
• Each cohort has eight recipients.
• Recipients are connected with a dedicated team of advisors and mentors.
• Training includes the Janet Udall Schaefer ’52 Center for Health Sciences and clinical education at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be accepted into Colby-Sawyer’s first-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and enter in fall 2027 for the current cohort.
• Published BSN admission minimums are a 2.7 overall GPA and 3.0 GPAs in both mathematics and science.
• Required school preparation includes first-year laboratory science, biology, chemistry, Algebra I and II, and geometry.
• The scholarship page states no age, work-experience, gender, nationality or residency requirement. However, the college’s international-admission page says full scholarships are unavailable to international students, so those applicants should confirm Niblack eligibility with Admissions.

Application process

   Apply to Colby-Sawyer’s first-year BSN program through the college’s online application or the Common Application.

   Submit the official high school transcript and satisfy the published BSN academic requirements; TEAS, HESI, SAT and ACT scores are not required.

   Obtain acceptance into the BSN program, which is the scholarship’s published eligibility requirement.

   Confirm the scholarship-specific submission route with Admissions and complete it by February 1, 2027; the public scholarship page lists no separate form or required-material checklist.

Program timeline

1. Priority filing deadline for BSN admission; rolling admission follows.

   December 15

2. Scholarship application deadline.

   February 1, 2027

3. Applicants receive a status update.

   By April 1, 2027

4. The second cohort of eight Niblack Scholars enters Colby-Sawyer.
