The New Emergence Art Prize is an international open call run by New Emergence Art, a platform founded in 2020 by British artist Habib Hajallie RBA (Royal Society of British Artists; Forbes 30 Under 30, 2023) to champion emerging and underrepresented artists. The 2026 edition is presented entirely online, so artists anywhere in the world can enter work in any medium with no set theme. Entries are judged by an invited panel of expert judges, with a shortlist shown in an online exhibition and nine awards distributed across cash, a residency, mentoring and materials. The aim is to give early-career artists visibility, career support and help with the cost of making work.

Eligibility

  • Open to artists worldwide, working in any medium.
  • No restrictions on training, education, age, nationality, gender, race or sexual orientation.
  • Aimed at emerging artists, though the open call does not fix a formal definition of “emerging”.
  • Entry is paid: a submission fee applies (£15 for one work, £25 for two, £30 for three).

Application process

    Prepare images of your work as JPG files, maximum 2MB each, naming each file with your full name and the artwork title.

    Choose how many works to enter — up to three artworks are allowed.

    Pay the entry fee (£15 for one, £25 for two, £30 for three).

    Complete the online submission form, uploading your images and artwork details, before the deadline of 3 August 2026, 23:59 BST.
