The International Academy of Sport Science and Technology (AISTS), a not-for-profit founded in 2000 by the IOC and Swiss universities, runs a 15-month Master of Advanced Studies in Sport Management and Technology in Lausanne.
This scholarship pays half its tuition for one candidate a year who actively promotes women’s participation and leadership in sport. The current round funds the September 2027 intake.
Benefits & funding
- 50% of the standard tuition. The 2027 fee is CHF 31,900, so the recipient still pays CHF 15,950, with no kick-off or early-application discount.
- Living costs in Lausanne (about CHF 2,400–3,200 a month, per the FAQ) and travel are not covered.
- The recipient serves as an AISTS ambassador for 15 months, at events and in videos and social media.
Eligibility
- Admission to the MAS: an EPFL-recognised Master’s; or an EPFL-recognised Bachelor’s plus five years’ work experience in any industry, or five years’ combined sport experience as a national or international athlete.
- An English test taken within 12 months: TOEFL iBT 85, IELTS 6.0 or Duolingo 110, with section minimums.
- Must actively promote women’s participation and leadership in sport. The scholarship page strongly encourages women to apply. A 2025 AISTS article says anyone who has advanced women’s roles in sport can apply, while earlier announcements described it as an award for women.
- Open to applicants worldwide; no age limit.
- Proof of funding for the rest of the fee, living costs and travel.

Application process
- 1Fill in the “Am I eligible?” form; eligible candidates receive a link to the MAS application.
- 2Submit the full MAS application, with two English recommendation letters (one academic, one professional) and certified degree copies and transcripts. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed.
- 3Then email admissions@aists.org a separate 1–2 page scholarship motivation letter answering AISTS’s four questions, plus proof of funding.
