Official Page

Taibah University is a public university in Medina, founded in 2003, with six branch campuses in the surrounding governorates. It admits non-Saudi students to its bachelor’s programs on scholarship places, under executive rules set by its university council.

There are two routes. The external route is for applicants living outside Saudi Arabia and offers free, partial or paid places. The internal route is for non-Saudis with legal residency in the kingdom and runs mainly as a paid program, with 20% of its seats set aside as free scholarships.

Every application goes through the Ministry of Education’s Study in Saudi platform. Free and partial places cover engineering, computing, science, business, law, humanities and design. Medicine and health programs are open to external applicants on the paid route only.

Benefits & funding

  • Free scholarship: a study place with no tuition, and a study visa issued free through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Free scholarship: travel tickets under the universities’ financial regulations, university housing, and academic, social, cultural and training support.
  • Free scholarship: two months’ stipend on arrival as a settling-in allowance, one month’s stipend each year for books, and three months’ stipend at graduation for shipping books home.
  • Free scholarship: health care for the student and for family members brought to live in the kingdom, subsidised meals, and yearly residence renewal handled by the university.
  • The pages read for this record do not state the monthly stipend amount.
  • Partial scholarship: part of the free package, such as a study place only, or a place with housing.
  • Paid place: tuition of SAR 611 per credit hour in business, basic sciences and other colleges, SAR 900 in engineering and technology, SAR 1,470 in health sciences and SAR 2,039 in medicine, before VAT.
  • Paid place: a training or internship fee of SAR 5,000 to SAR 30,000 depending on the field, plus a non-refundable SAR 250 administrative fee.

Eligibility

  • Open to non-Saudi nationals of any country. Saudi citizens and children of Saudi mothers go through regular admission.
  • Age 17 to 24 for bachelor’s study under the 2026 guides. The university’s standing rules set the ceiling at 25 and let the council make exceptions.
  • External route: live outside Saudi Arabia and hold a secondary certificate from outside the kingdom, obtained no more than five years ago.
  • Internal route: hold valid legal residency in the kingdom and a Saudi secondary certificate or equivalent, plus employer approval for study certified by the Chamber of Commerce where the residency type calls for it.
  • No earlier scholarship from any Saudi institution, no earlier Taibah record at the same study level, and no dismissal from another university for disciplinary reasons.
  • Pass the approved medical examination.
  • Where a home government requires Saudi students to hold its approval to study there, external applicants from that country need their own government’s approval to study in Saudi Arabia.
  • Paid medicine and health programs for external applicants: a secondary average of at least 90%, SAT 1 of at least 1350, and IELTS 6 or equivalent.
  • Every paid external place requires a financial guarantee covering tuition and living costs, plus valid medical insurance for the visa holder and accompanying family members.
  • Some programs admit one gender only: six engineering programs, both geology programs, occupational therapy and prosthetics take men only, while clinical nutrition, the two speech and hearing tracks, and fashion, interior and graphic design take women only.
