The T-CAIREM Summer Research Program places students on a paid summer project in artificial intelligence and health under a T-CAIREM researcher. It is run by the Temerty Centre for AI Research and Education in Medicine at the University of Toronto.
Projects range from building AI methods to clinical, population-health, ethics, policy and implementation work; no computer science background is needed. The 2027 round offers 30 positions, and each student applies jointly with a supervisor they have recruited.
Benefits & funding
- A stipend of at least $7,200 for the 350-hour placement.
- At least 350 full-time hours between 3 May and 3 September 2027; dates, hours and location (onsite, remote or hybrid) are agreed with the supervisor.
- Duties: attend at least 75% of the weekly professional-development seminars, and attend the mid-term check-in and the final mini-conference in person, presenting your research there.
