Benefits & funding

• The University contributes 20% of the recipient’s tuition fees for the full duration of the eligible course.
• The contribution is applied to the admissions offer and reduces tuition liability; it is not paid directly to the student.
• No additional payment is provided.

Eligibility

• Be an international student and hold citizenship in an eligible country or region. Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents are not eligible.

• Receive admission to a new full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree commencing in 2026 and meet the course entry requirements. Proof of residency is required, although the terms do not specify a separate residence-country restriction.
• Applicants must not have started a University of Sydney degree before applying for the award. A current student may apply with a second degree.
• MBA, EMBA, study abroad, executive education, distance-mode courses and the Law Dual Degree pathway are excluded. Research degrees are available only under existing eligible sponsor agreements or delegate approval.
• The award applies only where tuition fees are payable to the University of Sydney.

Application process

   Choose an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree and check its entry requirements and course-specific closing date.

   Apply directly from the course page or through an authorised education agent. Undergraduate applicants completing an Australian Year 12 qualification or an IB diploma in Australia apply through UAC.

   When prompted during the degree application, submit the award personal-statement template with three responses of no more than 200 words each: personal background, motivation for choosing the University, and intended study goals or outcomes.

   The University assesses the award with admission and notifies successful applicants by email; the tuition contribution appears in the admissions offer letter.
