This joint Chatham House and Stavros Niarchos Foundation fellowship supports an early- to mid-career professional from Greece to spend ten months at Chatham House in London. The fellow develops an individual international-affairs research project with guidance from a Chatham House expert.
The full-time programme combines personal research, contributions to the institute’s work and the Leadership Masterclass Programme. The 2026–27 cycle runs from October 2026 to July 2027, and applications are now closed.
Benefits & funding
- A monthly stipend of £2,565 covers London living costs including accommodation, utilities, food and transport.
- Chatham House covers relocation travel, accommodation support, visa fees and the UK Immigration Health Surcharge, excluding dental and optical care and prescriptions.
- Research expenses for fieldwork, outreach, events and publications are covered.
- Fellows receive coaching, media training, leadership workshops, optional career mentoring and five years of Chatham House membership after successful completion.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be citizens of Greece; dual nationals are eligible when one nationality is Greek.
- Applicants must have completed a BA degree or equivalent and have experience conducting research.
- Applicants should know and take an interest in international affairs, their proposed research area and Chatham House’s mission and research.
- Early- to mid-career applicants from academia, NGOs, business, government, civil society or media are preferred rather than required.
- Applicants must demonstrate spoken English proficiency and be able to undertake the fellowship full-time without concurrent work or study.
- There is no age restriction.
