Official Page

StartX Student Immersive, also called Student-in-Residence, supports current Stanford students and postdoctoral scholars who are building a company while continuing their academic work. The program combines a three-day intensive with two months of support designed around class schedules and part-time venture progress.

Participants pressure-test their startup with experienced entrepreneurs, take part in fundraising and investor-pitch activities, and learn how to approach the full-time StartX accelerator after graduation. StartX supports companies across sectors and operates the program without taking equity.

Benefits & funding

  • A three-day intensive followed by two months of startup support.
  • A fundraising sprint and opportunities to pitch to investors.
  • The opportunity to pitch for $10K in non-dilutive grant funding.
  • Zero program fees and zero equity taken by StartX.
  • Mentorship, peer support, curated learning resources, and access to the StartX community.

Eligibility

  • Be a current Stanford student or current Stanford postdoctoral scholar.
  • Be a company co-founder with a significant equity stake.
  • Include every co-founder in the application, including co-founders who are not current students.
  • Current students in their final quarter are directed to this program; teams that include a Stanford professor are directed to the SIR/PIR track.
  • There is no nationality or Bay Area residency requirement, although StartX recommends in-person participation and requires limited in-person attendance for the virtual route.
