Specialised Local Training for Malta’s Cultural and Creative Sectors

Arts Council Malta runs this European Social Fund Plus co-financed programme for people working in Malta’s cultural and creative sectors. It comprises 18 standalone accredited modules across Right to Culture, Sustainability and Creative Entrepreneurship.

Each module combines 20 contact hours over five face-to-face sessions at The Brewhouse in Birkirkara with 30 hours of guided self-study and assessment. Applicants may select one or more modules, and no lower-level module is required before a higher-level one.

Benefits & funding

Participation is free in all three applicant strands.
Each module provides 50 learning hours and is aligned with MQF Level 3, 4 or 5.
Participants attending at least three of five sessions can receive a Certificate of Participation.
Those seeking accredited certification must attend at least 70% of contact hours, including the assessed final session.
Completing all accredited modules at one MQF level can lead to the corresponding 12 ECTS Award qualification.
Light refreshments are provided during in-person sessions.

Eligibility

Applicants must be at least 18 and either be Maltese citizens or hold a valid Maltese residence permit, citizenship certificate or passport.
Applicants must be actively engaged in Malta’s cultural and creative sectors.
Strand 1 covers eligible public-sector employees in listed cultural bodies and specified regional council roles; organisational endorsement is required.
Strand 2 covers self-employed cultural and creative professionals, freelancers and sole traders registered with Jobsplus, holding valid VAT registration and an eligible NACE code.
Strand 3 covers employees of private-sector or non-government cultural organisations under a Contract of Service; employment evidence and employer endorsement are required.
No academic prerequisite or prior lower-level module is required.

Complete every mandatory field and upload the required CV, ESF+ participant data form and strand-specific evidence.
