The Social Relevance of the Humanities fellowship, known as RevHum, brings international scholars to the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia for a residential research stay in Bulgaria. The Centre proposed the programme jointly with New Europe College Bucharest, with financial support from the Porticus Foundation.
The programme asks humanities and social science researchers to rethink their own topics in terms of contemporary relevance. The questions can be practical, ethical, epistemological or philosophical, and the Centre welcomes any theme that links up to current debates about the human condition.
Fellows work independently inside a multidisciplinary group in residence in Sofia. CAS lists the programme as running from 2021 to 2026 and as having supported 21 projects so far, and it was part of the 2025/2026 fellow cohort.
