Short Scholarships for the Arabic Program for Non-Native Speakers

Qatar University offers this annual scholarship route for non-native Arabic speakers coming from outside Qatar. The Scholarships and International Admissions Section coordinates admission with the Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Center, while eligible candidates are nominated by organizations that have agreements with the university.

The on-campus program provides intensive Modern Standard Arabic study in Doha for one academic year, covering two academic terms. Students develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills and receive a language certificate after completing the year and meeting program requirements. Individual scholarship applications are currently unavailable; the separate self-funded route does not constitute this scholarship.

Eligibility

Be a non-native Arabic speaker coming from outside Qatar.
Hold at least a high school diploma; university graduates are preferred.
Be 18 to 40 years old.
Be able to communicate with the university community in English or Arabic.
Be nominated by an educational or cultural organization that has an agreement with Qatar University; self-nomination is not accepted.
Basic knowledge of the Arabic alphabet, reading, and writing receives priority but is not a hard requirement.
No specific nationality or gender restriction is published.
