Sejong International Scholarships for Undergraduate Students

Benefits & funding

• English-track freshmen can receive 30%, 50% or 80% of first-semester tuition with IELTS scores of 5.5, 6.5 or 8.0; TOEFL iBT scores of 71, 100 or 112; or New TEPS scores of 327, 398 or 498, respectively. Applicants whose mother tongue is English and who are from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland or South Africa receive 30%.
• Korean-track freshmen can receive 30%, 50%, 70% or 100% of first-semester tuition with TOPIK levels 3, 4, 5 or 6, respectively.
• Sejong Language Center prep-course students who complete at least two semesters at the required Korean level and receive the dean’s recommendation can receive a 100% first-semester tuition waiver.
• Enrolled international students with a GPA of at least 3.0 can receive 20–50% of tuition based on academic results. They must have earned at least 15 credits in the previous semester, or 10 credits when that semester is their final one.
• The award covers tuition only. The 2026 application fee is KRW 150,000, and published semester tuition ranges from KRW 4,669,000 to KRW 6,392,000 by field.

Eligibility

• The international admission route is open to non-South-Korean nationals whose parents are also non-South-Korean nationals. Korean dual citizens and applicants who acquired foreign citizenship after changing nationality are not eligible. No residency rule is stated.
• Freshman applicants must have completed or expect to complete primary and secondary education; education across multiple countries must total at least 12 years.
• Transfer applicants must have completed at least two years at a four-year university, at least half of the credits required for that degree, or a two- or three-year junior-college degree. Transfer students cannot receive Scholarships A or B on entry but may qualify for the continuing merit award after enrollment.
• English-track applicants generally need IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 71 or New TEPS 327. The guide states an exemption for nationals of countries where English is an official language, subject to its detailed conditions.
• Korean-track applicants need the TOPIK or Sejong TOPIK level required by their major, or the specified Sejong Language Center course completion and recommendation. The published minimums vary by major.

Application process

   Read the current international undergraduate admission guide and choose an eligible freshman or transfer major and language track.

   Apply through the Sejong One Stop Service Center during an open round and pay the KRW 150,000 application fee.

   Upload the required materials, then ensure the originals reach the admissions team by post or in person before the deadline. Email submission is not accepted.

   Submit the language score or Sejong Language Center recommendation during the application period because Scholarships A and B are assessed from the documents first received.

   Complete an interview if the department requests one, check the decision in the portal, and pay the tuition amount shown after any scholarship reduction.
