Sciana Cohort 9 is a two-year systems-leadership fellowship focused on health, care, and wellbeing in a digital age. It is a joint initiative of The Health Foundation, Careum, and Bosch Health Campus, with Salzburg Global as programme development and management partner.
Fellows meet four times at Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg and work between meetings on the applied Sciana Challenge. The cohort explores digital transformation, health-system resilience, literacy, AI, mental health, trust, and health equity.
Benefits & funding
- A scholarship covers the participation fee and accommodation, with travel support to and from Salzburg.
- Modest bursary funding is available for Sciana Challenge group work and cross-country learning activities, subject to criteria.
- Fellows join a cohort of 18 and gain access to online sessions, mentorship, network events, and Salzburg Global Fellow opportunities.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be mid- to senior-level leaders in key positions whose work focuses on at least one health system in the United Kingdom, Germany, or Switzerland.
- They should show cross-sector collaboration, responsibility beyond their day-to-day role, and systems-level influence on policy, strategy, or ways of working in a digital health environment.
- Applicants need excellent English and must be available for all four residential meetings; between meetings, Challenge work takes about two to four hours per month.
- No separate nationality, residency, degree, age, or gender requirement is published; the form accepts applicants who are not citizens or residents of the three focus countries.
