The Samuel Pisar Travelling Fellowship is run by the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights in Oxford’s Faculty of Law and funded by a gift from Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin.
The Fellow designs and arranges their own summer placement, from July, with one or more organisations in a developing country, doing litigation, research or advocacy work. A developed country is possible only in exceptional cases.
Benefits & funding
- A fixed award towards travel, accommodation, living and other reasonable project costs; the amount is not published.
- Other funding you hold is taken into account when the award is set.
- About three months, generally over the summer vacation.
- A full report on your work is due at the end.
Eligibility
- Only current and recently graduated Oxford Law Faculty students; graduate students in other departments who hold a law degree are not eligible here.
