The Rotman Pride Fellowship recognizes incoming MBA candidates who have contributed meaningfully to LGBTQ+ initiatives. Rotman School of Management established it in 2018 and assesses candidates through the Full-Time MBA application rather than a separate fellowship form.
Recipients join the in-person, 20-month Full-Time MBA in Toronto, which consists of 16 months of academic study and an opportunity for a four-month paid internship. The fellowship supports professional development connected to the LGBTQ+ community.
Benefits & funding
- A merit-based scholarship; Rotman does not publish the scholarship amount on the fellowship page.
- A CAD 500 stipend for conference attendance and related travel, locally or internationally, to develop professional opportunities within the LGBTQ+ community.
Eligibility
- Applicants must seek admission as incoming candidates to the Rotman Full-Time MBA; there is no separate fellowship application.
- The MBA normally requires a recognized four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least a 3.0 GPA in the final year.
- The MBA normally requires at least two years of full-time work experience, although Rotman exempts applicants to some combined-degree routes from this minimum.
- Applicants must meet the MBA’s English-language and GMAT or GRE requirements, unless an official exemption applies.
- Fellowship selection preference goes to applicants who show passion, leadership, and meaningful extracurricular involvement in the LGBTQ+ community or its advocacy.
- Rotman publishes no separate nationality, residency, age, or gender restriction for this fellowship.
