Research Master Scholarship — Master's Scholarship

Tilburg University offers this scholarship to outstanding students admitted to selected two-year Research Master’s programs in Tilburg. It covers Social and Behavioral Sciences, Psychology: Individual Differences and Assessment, and Communication, Cognition and Digital Culture under route-specific eligibility rules. Recipients study on campus and pay the Dutch statutory tuition fee rather than the higher non-EEA institutional fee.

For 2026–2027, the preliminary statutory fee is €2,695 instead of €19,900. The waiver applies for two years, subject to the published continuation conditions for the second year.

The recipient pays the preliminary 2026–2027 statutory tuition fee of €2,695 instead of the €19,900 non-EEA institutional fee.
The waiver covers the standard two-year Research Master’s duration.
Each covered program or cohort offers no more than three waivers.
Social and Behavioral Sciences and Psychology recipients retain the second-year waiver only if they meet study-progress requirements; exceptional extensions are mentioned only for Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Eligibility

Applicants must be conditionally or definitively admitted to the relevant Research Master’s program and meet that program’s academic and English-language requirements.
For Social and Behavioral Sciences and Psychology: Individual Differences and Assessment, applicants must be non-EEA students liable for the institutional fee, including those who earned a Bachelor’s degree in the Netherlands.
For Communication, Cognition and Digital Culture, eligible routes are outstanding non-EEA students pursuing their first Master’s degree in the Netherlands or applicants of any nationality who previously earned a Master’s degree in the Netherlands.
Communication, Cognition and Digital Culture applicants must start in September; February starters are not eligible for its waiver.
Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s preparation is accepted, with the detailed grade, methods, statistics, and English requirements set by the chosen program.

Application process

Choose a covered Research Master’s program and check its program-specific admission requirements.

Register for the correct program in Studielink and submit every required document through OSIRIS Aanmeld by April 1 at 23:59 CET.

For the two Social and Behavioral Sciences school programs, the Studielink application automatically enters the waiver selection; Communication, Cognition and Digital Culture applicants are considered through their completed program application.

Complete any selection step: the Social and Behavioral Sciences school uses a draw when more than three candidates qualify, while the Communication program invites selected candidates to an online interview.

If selected, accept within the stated window; Communication recipients had to return the signed award letter by July 1 for the 2026 cycle.
