The Research Fellowship in Public Health Intelligence is jointly run by the Charité Center for Global Health and the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence. It brings postdoctoral researchers from diverse disciplines and countries to Berlin for five to six months of applied research on pandemic and epidemic intelligence. Fellows pursue independent desk-based projects while working with teams at both institutions.
The 2026 application cycle is closed, and the official site says the 2027 timeline will be announced.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be postdoctoral researchers. The standard route is for mid-career researchers with 5–15 years in research or senior researchers with 15 or more years.
- Exceptional early-career postdoctoral researchers within five years of starting their first research position may also be considered when they bring highly specific expertise or closely match a research need.
- Applicants from any country may apply; researchers from low- and middle-income countries receive priority, but nationality is not an eligibility bar.
- Applicants need a proven research record relevant to the program, written and spoken English at C1 level, and a proposal aligned with a priority research area. German is not required.
- Relevant disciplines include health, AI and technology, data preparedness, analytical frameworks, multisectoral research, governance and evidence-to-policy work.
