Official Page

The Reaching Out LGBT MBA Fellowship is a partnership between Rotman and Reaching Out MBA for incoming Full-Time MBA students. Rotman selects recipients through the MBA admissions process; Reaching Out does not run a separate fellowship application.

Recipients study the 20-month, in-person MBA in Toronto and receive a school-dependent merit scholarship plus fellowship programming. The fellowship is designed to develop business leaders who advance inclusion and belonging for the LGBTQ+ community and beyond.

Benefits & funding

  • A merit-based scholarship from Rotman; the current official pages do not publish its amount.
  • Exclusive mentorship, leadership development, and community-building programming through Reaching Out MBA.
  • An incoming-fellows retreat with hotel accommodation provided by ROMBA; fellows normally cover transportation, with access funding available when needed.
  • Free ROMBA Conference admission during the MBA, additional résumé-book exposure to corporate partners, and priority consideration for selected leadership roles.

Eligibility

  • Apply to Rotman’s Full-Time MBA; Rotman assesses MBA applications for entrance awards, and Reaching Out does not manage a separate fellowship application.
  • Hold a recognized four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with at least a 3.0 GPA in the final year.
  • Have at least two years of full-time work experience, except where Rotman permits an exception for certain combined-degree applicants.
  • Submit a strong MBA application showing passion for and leadership within the LGBTQ+ community or its advocacy through extracurricular, professional, or community engagement.
  • The fellowship includes out LGBTQ+ candidates and active allies; the official pages publish no nationality or residency restriction.
  • Meet Rotman’s GMAT or GRE and English-proficiency requirements unless an official exemption applies.
