The Raoul Wallenberg Institute at the University of Michigan runs a fellowship that brings scholars together to research and engage on religious and ethnic hatred and tolerance around the world.
Fellows are salaried, work from the Institute in Ann Arbor, join a weekly fellows’ workshop and take part in campus intellectual life. Terms run a single semester or a single year, and research fellowships renew yearly up to three years. Applications for 2027–2028 are open now.

- Open regardless of citizenship or permanent-residency status.

Application process
- 1Write a proposal of at most 1,000 words: the project, your competencies, how the fellowship helps complete it, how it advances the Institute’s goals, and how you will contribute to campus.
- 2Add a CV and a writing sample of about 30 pages.
