Programa CULT is AECID’s 11-month extracurricular training placement for young Spanish graduates, in one of two separate tracks: cultural management or science diplomacy. Trainees work at Spanish embassies or AECID cultural centres abroad under a tutor and write a study during their stay.
The 2025–26 round ran from 19 November to 2 December 2025. AECID has not yet published a 2026–27 CULT call or its dates.
Benefits & funding
- A monthly stipend; the amount depends on the destination and is set in the call’s annex.
- Enrolment in Spanish Social Security.
- An 11-month placement, tutored by staff of Spain’s foreign service and AECID.
- In the 2024–25 call, an unjustified withdrawal barred an award in the next two calls and triggered repayment.
Eligibility
- Spanish nationality and a DNI.
- A bachelor’s (grado) degree; in the 2024–25 call, science diplomacy required a science degree, while cultural management preferred arts and humanities.
- Aged 27 or under on 31 December 2025 (latest round).
- Certified competence in a language required by the chosen destinations; no minimum level to apply.
- In the 2024–25 call, anyone who had held an AECID scholarship for 6 months or more, or an ICEX, Ministry of Culture or Instituto Cervantes training scholarship abroad in the previous two years, was barred.
- A personal electronic certificate recognised by Spain’s General State Administration, to sign the application.
