Programa CULT provides practical training in either cultural management or science diplomacy through Spain’s overseas diplomatic network and AECID cultural centres. Participants undertake an 11-month extracurricular placement at an assigned destination.

The 2025–2026 application round closed on 2 December 2025. AECID has not announced an exact opening date for the next CULT round.

Benefits & funding

  • A monthly stipend is paid, with the amount determined by the assigned destination in the call annex.
  • Participants are enrolled in Spanish Social Security.
  • The placement lasts 11 months.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must hold Spanish nationality and a DNI.
  • Applicants must hold a university degree.
  • Applicants must have been no older than 27 on 31 December 2025 for the latest round.
  • Applicants must document competence in a language required for their chosen destinations; no minimum level is required to submit, but the certified level affects scoring.
  • Submission requires a personal electronic certificate recognised by Spain’s General State Administration.

Application process

    Register in AECID’s Citizen Folder before the application window.

    Complete the online form during the published window and select CULT rather than COOPERACIÓN.

    Enter the requested CV information and upload the supporting documents in the designated PDF fields, adding Spanish translations where required.

    Sign and submit with the applicant’s own electronic certificate, then verify the registration receipt under the applicant’s files.
