President’s International Distinction Scholarship — Bachelor's Scholarship

The President’s International Distinction Scholarship is an annual University of Alberta entrance award for international students beginning an undergraduate degree. It recognizes superior admission results and demonstrated leadership.

Recipients study in person at a UAlberta campus in Edmonton or Camrose, Canada. The award helps fund four years of undergraduate study and is selected through the university’s common entrance-scholarship application.

Benefits & funding

Up to CAN $120,000, payable over four years.
25 scholarships are awarded each year.
The award is partial funding; the university does not state that it covers every tuition and living cost.

Eligibility

Enter the first year of a University of Alberta undergraduate degree.
Present a superior admission average.
Demonstrate leadership qualities.
Study on a student visa permit.
No country-specific nationality list or residence requirement is published; the student visa permit is the stated international eligibility gate.

Apply to a University of Alberta undergraduate degree program; an admission offer is not required before submitting the scholarship application.

Use the University of Alberta CCID issued through the admission process to sign in to Awards Hub.

Complete both the General Application and the Entrance Scholarship Application so the university can assess the applicant for this and other entrance awards.

Submit by the entrance-award deadline. The Fall 2027 application opens October 1, 2026 and closes January 10, 2027.
