The Flagship Scholarship is Point Foundation’s main award for LGBTQ+ and ally students earning bachelor’s, graduate or professional degrees at accredited, not-for-profit colleges and universities in the United States.
Scholars pair their studies with Point’s leadership and career programme: an in-person summer conference and one virtual program each academic term. The current call funds study starting in fall 2027.
Benefits & funding
- An award of up to $15,000 toward tuition and fees; funds arrive at the start of the fall term, and summer study is not covered.
- Up to four years of support in total.
- Leadership and career development through virtual workshops and in-person events; scholars attend the summer conference and each term’s virtual program.
- Links to a network of 2,300 LGBTQ+ and ally alumni and supporters.
Eligibility
- An LGBTQ+ community member or ally, at least a high-school senior when applying; there is no age limit.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
- Full-time in a bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, medical, law or other professional degree at an accredited, not-for-profit U.S. institution in 2027–28; you need not be admitted yet, but must confirm enrollment if selected.
- No nationality or residence rule is stated.
- Excluded: fully online programs; non-degree, certificate, post-baccalaureate or postdoctoral study; high-school dual enrollment in 2027–28; anyone who has had four years of Flagship support.
- Past Point Scholars must have exited in active status and may hold only one Point award at a time; Point employees, board members, volunteers and their immediate family cannot apply.

- 2Submit one online application, which also covers the Spring 2027 Access Scholarship, with your most recent transcript showing a calculated GPA, by 19 November 2026, 5 p.m. PT.
