The COP31 Fellowship is the third edition of Life of Pachamama’s youth climate-action program. It begins with online training in climate justice, diplomacy, governance, communication, negotiation, and climate finance.
Participants are assessed during training, and a selected group advances to an in-person delegation at COP31 in Antalya, Turkey. Delegates later develop local initiatives that transfer climate knowledge and strengthen action in their communities.
Benefits & funding
- The online training is fully financed, although participants provide their own computer and internet access.
- For delegates selected for the COP31 phase, Life of Pachamama covers round-trip airfare from the city of residence to Antalya, shared accommodation, meal and local-transport per diems, and international medical insurance, subject to budget availability.
- Passport and visa procedures, personal expenses, accommodation outside Antalya, and unspecified costs are not covered.
- The fellowship provides no salary or other compensation.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be nationals of Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Indonesia, Ghana, Gabon, Uganda, or Tanzania.
- Applicants must ordinarily reside in one of those countries; refugees or climate migrants from one of them may reside elsewhere if their status is officially documented.
- Applicants must be aged 15–30 from the start of the call through November 20, 2026. Minors may apply but need formal authorization from a parent or legal guardian if selected.
- Applicants must belong to an Indigenous, peasant, Afro-descendant, or rural community, or be a victim of armed conflict, and must document that connection if selected.
- Applicants need a demonstrable record of youth leadership in socio-environmental activism and climate action; higher education is not required.
- Spanish or English proficiency, suitable computer and internet access, at least four hours per week for online training, and full availability for the COP31 travel period are required.
- Direct associate members of Life of Pachamama are not eligible.

Application process
- 1Complete the official online form with personal details, leadership experience, climate-policy motivation, and a proposed post-COP community action.
- 2If shortlisted, submit the requested leadership dossier, motivation letter, and an unlisted YouTube video of no more than three minutes in English or Spanish.
- 3If selected for training, provide official identification, recent proof of residence or documented refugee or climate-migrant status, proof of eligible community affiliation, and the required policy and image-use forms.
- 4Complete the training and assessments; the highest-performing participants are interviewed for selection to the COP31 delegation.
