Official Page

The Nneka Fritz (WAG ’08) Scholarship is a merit-based award from NYU Wagner, funded by the MCJ Amelior Foundation. It supports selected full-time MPA or MUP students pursuing an interest in economic development in New York City.

Preference goes to applicants with a current or past affiliation with Newark, New Jersey, who are committed to using their education to benefit the Newark community. Scholarship consideration is part of the admissions review rather than a separate application.

Benefits & funding

  • The award covers part or all of tuition.
  • Full-time MPA and MUP students can complete their degree in as little as two years.

Eligibility

  • Apply for full-time study in an NYU Wagner Master of Public Administration or Master of Urban Planning program.
  • Hold a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent degree from another country before enrollment.
  • Demonstrate an interest in economic development.
  • A current or past Newark affiliation and a commitment to benefit the Newark community are preferences, not mandatory eligibility gates.
  • Prior work experience is not required for MPA or MUP admission, although NYU Wagner prefers at least two years of relevant experience.
