The Niskanen Summer Institute: Democracy that Works is an intensive one-week academic program run by the Niskanen Center, a public-policy think tank based in Washington, D.C. Held in the downtown of the city, it brings a small cohort of 15–20 leadership-minded undergraduates together to study the intersection of politics and policy and the Center’s framework for institutional reform. Participants engage directly with policymakers and experts and learn how Washington actually operates. The program is fully funded and open to students worldwide.
