The NATO Young Professionals Programme recruits early-career professionals into paid entry-level roles across the Alliance. Participants complete three consecutive one-year assignments at three NATO bodies in different countries, gaining experience across multiple work areas.
The fourth cycle offered 15 positions in areas including technology, engineering, finance, human resources, policy, law, communications and programme management. Applications for that cycle closed on 31 May 2026.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be citizens of a NATO member country: Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Türkiye, the United Kingdom or the United States.
- Applicants must be between 21 and 32 years old, inclusive, when applications close.
- A Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized institution is required.
- At least one year of demonstrated professional experience is required; full-time work, temporary assignments and internships can count.
- Proficiency in English or French is required. Working knowledge of the other NATO official language is an asset.
- Individual vacancies may add role-specific requirements. No application-stage residence or gender requirement is stated.
