The Multimedia Training Academy is a hands-on digital journalism program sponsored by the Dow Jones News Fund and hosted at the University of Texas at El Paso. It serves college and university journalism instructors connected to Hispanic-serving institutions; archived calls also included instructors from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Participants work in teams on El Paso community assignments and produce multimedia stories using video, audio, digital photography and editing tools. The workshop is designed to simulate a deadline-driven newsroom and help educators bring current digital storytelling practices back to their students.
