Official Page

MozFest (the Mozilla Festival) is the Mozilla Foundation’s annual gathering at the intersection of technology and society. The 2026 edition runs 28–30 October 2026 at Recinte Fabra i Coats in Barcelona, Spain, hosted with the City of Barcelona as part of Open Tech Week, and draws 2,000+ participants. The program is co-created: people from around the world propose and host the sessions across eight community-driven tracks. This Call for Proposals is the route to become a facilitator. The 2026 theme, “Wilding”, asks what a more open, decentralized and community-owned internet could look like — mesh networks, federated platforms and transparency tools instead of centralized, extractive systems.

Benefits & funding

  • Accepted facilitators lead a session before a global audience of 2,000+ technologists, activists, designers, researchers and storytellers.
  • A limited travel fund is available for facilitators whose proposals are accepted; support is requested inside the proposal application. Funds are limited and not guaranteed for every accepted facilitator.
  • No fee to submit a proposal; accepted facilitators receive festival access.
  • Sessions sit within eight tracks: Wilding Advocacy, Knowledge, Systems, With Nature, Youth Wilding, Creativity, Founders Wilding and Developers Wilding.

Eligibility

  • Open to anyone worldwide — developers, activists, designers, researchers, artists and storytellers are all welcome to propose.
  • No degree, nationality or residency requirement for the general call.
  • No general age limit; the Youth Wilding track is designed for young people aged 13–17.
