Official Page

Code First Girls runs the Mid-Level Accelerator as a part-time, 16-week programme for people already working in technology. It combines independent study, virtual live labs, technical coaching and group work across the software-development lifecycle.

The currently open education-only route is UK-based and prepares participants for mid-level progression through Python, Java or JavaScript pathways. It may lead to future consultant placements with partner companies, but a placement is not guaranteed.

Benefits & funding

  • The course is 100% free, with no course-material fees, repayment or debt.
  • Successful participants receive a Code First Girls certificate after the 16-week programme.
  • The curriculum covers specialist technical development, agility and automation, DevSecOps, architecture, microservices, product discovery, teamwork, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
  • The expected commitment is about 12 hours each week across independent learning, virtual live labs, assessments, revision and group-project work.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be female, be at least 18 when applying and have at least 18 months of experience in a technology role.
  • Applicants need recent experience with Python, Java or JavaScript within the programme page’s stated 1.5–5-year range.
  • No CFGdegree is required; people already working at mid-level may also apply.
  • The open education-only route is based in the United Kingdom, does not offer visa sponsorship and requires applicants to be open to new roles and future consultant placements.
  • Applicants must be committed to progressing their technical career and willing to learn.
