The Meta Research PhD Fellowship supports doctoral students whose research fits one of about twenty areas Meta names each cycle, from AR/VR hardware and AI systems to privacy, technology policy and computational social science.
Fellows keep doing their PhD at their own university. Meta pays their tuition and a stipend and invites them to a yearly Fellowship Summit.

Eligibility
- PhD students in any year of study
- Research must fit one of the cycle’s listed research areas; Meta awards fellowships only in those areas
- The application page names no nationality or residence restriction
