Internews’ Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is awarding five media grants of up to US$10,000 each to newsrooms and media organizations in coastal countries, as part of its Global Accountability on 30x30 project. The grants fund in-depth reporting projects, journalist training and other activities that raise the volume and quality of coverage on the 30x30 target — the global commitment to protect 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030 — including the challenges and solutions to reaching it. The work is supported by the Paul M. Angell Foundation, Oceans 5 and the Bloomberg Ocean Fund. Of the five grants, one is designated for Ghana, one for Mexico and one for the Philippines, with two for organizations based in any other eligible coastal country.
