The May Quon Undergraduate Scholarship is an endowed, renewable entrance award at the University of Alberta in Canada. It supports students from China or Hong Kong who start the first year of an undergraduate degree on a study permit.
It is application-based: the university matches applicants through its single entrance scholarship application on Awards Hub. The Fall 2027 cycle is open until January 10, 2027.
Benefits & funding
- Up to CAN $100,000, paid over four years.
- Years two to four renew only with a GPA of at least 3.0 on 24 or more credits over the latest September–April period, while still on a study permit.
Eligibility
- Chinese or Hong Kong citizenship.
- Entering the first year of a University of Alberta undergraduate degree.
- Studying in Canada on a study permit.
- A superior admission average.
- Self-declared financial need (stated on the international scholarships page).

Application process

- 2On Awards Hub, complete the General Application and the Entrance Scholarship Application by January 10, 2027 (11:59 p.m. MT).
- 3No separate May Quon form: eligible applicants are considered automatically; submissions cannot be changed after the deadline.
