The Marubeni Scholarship supports one privately funded international student entering an eligible two-year master’s program at the International University of Japan. Marubeni Corporation funds the award, while IUJ screens admission applications, nominates suitable candidates, and conducts document and interview selection.

The recipient studies in person at IUJ in Minami Uonuma, Japan, for two years. The published opportunity covered the 2026 intake; that cycle is closed, and IUJ has not yet confirmed a Marubeni award for the 2027 intake.

Benefits & funding

  • Total published value: JPY 10 million for one recipient.
  • Full JPY 300,000 admission fee; the initial JPY 50,000 payment is reimbursed after enrollment.
  • Full tuition of JPY 3.2 million per year, or JPY 6.4 million over two years.
  • JPY 150,000 monthly stipend for 22 months, totaling JPY 3.3 million.
  • Support lasts two academic years in principle; expenses outside the listed coverage remain the recipient’s responsibility.

Eligibility

  • Be from India, Indonesia, Kenya, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, Ukraine, or the United Arab Emirates.
  • Be a privately funded international applicant entering IUJ in 2026 and meet one of IUJ’s master’s admission routes. The standard routes require a qualifying bachelor’s degree; the 14-year-schooling route also accepts an associate’s degree if the applicant is at least 22, has two years of work experience, and IUJ confirms bachelor-equivalent academic ability before application.
  • Apply to one of these two-year programs: International Relations, International Development, Public Management and Policy Analysis, Japan-Global Development in GSIR, the two-year MBA, or Japan-Global Development in GSIM.
  • Have an excellent academic record, good character, and good health, and be available for an online interview with IUJ faculty.
  • Do not hold another institutional scholarship simultaneously.
  • Hold a Student Visa to receive a scholarship administered through IUJ.
