Majmaah University is a Saudi public university set up by royal decree in 2009, with colleges in Al-Majmaah, Al-Zulfi, Al-Ghat, Rumah and Hotat Sudair. Its Scholarship Department admits non-Saudi students on scholarship, with the stated aims of spreading Arabic and Islamic learning and recruiting strong students from abroad.
There are two routes. The external route is for applicants living outside Saudi Arabia, runs through the Ministry of Education’s Study in Saudi platform, and currently takes men only. The internal route is for non-Saudis already living in the kingdom on a legal residency and is open to men and women.
The external route carries full scholarships. The platform currently lists five, all taught in Arabic at Al-Majmaah: bachelor’s degrees in Arabic Language and Sharia, and two-year diplomas in Accounting and Taxation, Human Resources and Marketing. Resident places are partial scholarships across most non-health bachelor’s and diploma programs.
Benefits & funding
- External full scholarship: the platform defines it as the sponsor covering all study costs, with no financial burden on the student.
- Full scholarship holders receive housing, medical services, an arrival payment and annual travel tickets under the Ministry of Education’s rules for public-university scholarships.
- The university’s Stipends Department lists a monthly stipend for foreign scholarship students of SR 1,000 in scientific programs and SR 850 in social sciences and humanities.
- Scholarship students can join the university’s student employment program for paid part-time work, and can apply for emergency financial aid.
- Internal scholarship: the university grants full or partial benefits under its rules; the platform currently lists resident places as partial scholarships, and no monthly stipend is paid.
- All master’s programs are offered as paid places only, and are not scholarships.
Eligibility
- Non-Saudi nationals of any country; each route has its own conditions.
- Age 17 to 25 on both routes.
- A secondary-school certificate, plus the same admission conditions the university applies to Saudi students.
- No other scholarship from a Saudi educational institution, and no past dismissal from one.
- A passing medical examination set by the university.
- External route: men only, living outside Saudi Arabia; certificates attested by the Saudi embassy or cultural attaché; a security clearance from the home country; home-government approval where that country requires it; the university may ask for a recommendation from an institution.
- Internal route: men and women with a legal Saudi residency valid for at least three months at the time of applying; visit-visa holders are not eligible.
- Internal route: at least 80% in secondary school, or 90% for engineering and computer science.
- Internal route: a female applicant needs a mahram who holds a scholarship or a legal residency; work-sponsored residents need an employer approval letter certified by the Chamber of Commerce.
- Health specialties are closed to scholarship students.
- External scholarship students may not work for companies or institutions, may not transfer to another university, and must leave the kingdom within three months of finishing.

Application process
- 1Pick the route: external if living outside Saudi Arabia, internal if holding a legal Saudi residency.

- 3Internal: check the programs in the admission guide, then apply through the university’s academic portal during the internal window.
- 4Upload clear scans. External applicants send the secondary certificate, transcript, birth certificate, security clearance and medical report with Arabic translations, plus both parents’ IDs, the passport and a 4x6 photo.
