Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) runs a Global Fellowship that places early-career scholars inside India’s foundational literacy and numeracy reform work.
Four fellows are selected each year and placed in one of four domains: systems and policy, research and evidence, multilingual learning, or data and technology. The fellowship runs for 12 months and requires being based in India.
LLF is an Indian non-profit founded in 2015 that works with state governments on teacher professional development and classroom practice. Fellows embed with its expert teams, travel to the states where its programmes run, and produce knowledge that feeds into policy and practice.

Eligibility
- A Master’s or doctoral degree from a university outside India. For the 2026 cohort it had to be completed by mid-2026.
- An academic background in education, public policy, economics, development studies, data science, social sciences, or learning sciences.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing ability in English.
- Open to all nationalities. Indian nationals studying abroad and candidates from other countries apply through the same route.
- Willingness to be based in India for the full 12 months and to travel to programme states.
- No age, work-experience, or gender requirement is published.
