Lincoln University awards this merit scholarship to academically strong international students who have not previously studied in an academic programme at the University. Recipients enter the Pathway Certificate (Foundation) or First-Year Pathway Diploma on the Lincoln campus in New Zealand.

The scholarship supports a route into later bachelor’s study across the subjects available through the eligible pathways. Selection is based on academic merit, and the award is held for one academic semester.

Benefits & funding

  • NZ$2,500 credited once to the recipient’s Lincoln University tuition-fee account after enrolment is confirmed.
  • The award is a partial fee contribution; recipients must pay the remaining tuition fees.
  • The scholarship cannot be deferred and cannot be held with another scholarship, bursary, or award.

Eligibility

  • Be an international student who has not previously studied in an academic programme at Lincoln University.
  • Enter either the Pathway Certificate (Foundation) or First-Year Pathway Diploma; these programmes assess secondary-school credentials and their equivalents.
  • Meet the academic and English-language entry requirements for the chosen pathway programme.
  • Meet all immigration requirements for study in New Zealand.
  • Hold no other scholarship, bursary, or award, and not have received this scholarship previously.
  • The official rules do not name eligible countries or require residence in a particular country. No age, gender, or work-experience condition is stated.

Application process

    Choose an eligible pathway qualification and submit the relevant Lincoln University study application with supporting documents.

    Download and complete the scholarship application form from the scholarship page.

    Provide the requested personal, academic, and proposed-course information, together with evidence of previous study.

    Ask a referee to send one confidential reference letter to the Lincoln University International Office.

    Submit the scholarship form directly to the International Office by email or post before the deadline for the intended intake.
