Latvian Brain Bee — Course / Training

Latvian Brain Bee is Latvia’s national stage of the International Brain Bee, organized by the Neurology Development Foundation and the Rīga Stradiņš University Neurology and Neurosurgery Students’ Scientific Interest Group. It is intended to build secondary-school students’ theoretical and practical neuroscience knowledge.

The latest published cycle used an online selection round on 10–11 January 2026, followed by an in-person national stage at RSU’s Medical Education Technology Centre in Riga on 28 March 2026. The 2026 cycle has finished, and the next registration dates have not been published.

Benefits & funding

No participation fee is charged.
Every participant receives a participation certificate, while first- through third-place finishers receive special prizes from the Neurology Development Foundation.
The first-place finisher is nominated to represent Latvia at the International Brain Bee World Championship.

Eligibility

Applicants must be grade 10–12 students at a general education institution in Latvia.
Competition tasks are in English; participants may answer in Latvian or English.
The online selection stage advances the 50 highest-scoring students to the national stage.
